Green Arrow, Volume 4 by Jeff Lemire6/24/2023 I'm still hopeful that this can eventually become something great, but for now I'll just settle for what it is. Oliver's father has never ( that I know of) really played a big role in his backstory before this, so why the sudden change?Īlthough, the show is pretty popular, so I can see why they'd maybe want to take things in that direction, and I'm probably one of the few people who didn't like it. It's not an exact copy of the show, but it felt tainted and stinky. And like the tv show, it wasn't a total accident that his ship went down and he ended up on the island. Instead of having Oliver's father give him a list of his wrongs to right, his father was part of some ancient Arrow Tribe.or some such nonsense. I was a little disappointed that they seem to be trying to take a page from the tv series, though. At least this made sense, even if it wasn't mind-blowing. Lemire is such an improvement on Nocenti that I can't help but breathe a sigh of relief. As much as I like the idea of Green Arrow, this volume still isn't what I was looking for.
